Let it Rain! Let it Pour!

Woohoo! Rain! Storms! Relief from humidity! Finally. We've been in the WORST drought up here in lovely Minnesota. It's been hotter than hot, and humider than humid, and drier than dry. (Drier? Dryer?) Today was pretty bad temperature-wise, and of course, I did a long service day today, from about 12:30 - 7:00. Doing town territory, naturally, so we're walking everywhere, melting a little more with each step.

Our meeting is at 7:30, but that was about the time the storms rolled in, causing a power outage at the KH. So...we all went home after waiting out the worst of it in a very, very dark KH. Actually, most of us gathered under the carport.

So, with power back on, here I am, typing away on my lovely little friend. (Sane? Moi?)

Bleh

April should recognize the title of this post; it's also the title of the last e-mail I sent her!

Not that this has anything to do with anything.

I'm besieged by minions tonight. Four of them. It started with two of them spending the night, then three, now it's up to four. If anyone else shows up at my house, I will scream, since the four I have now are on a sugar high. Heaven help us all. I've no idea how I'm going to feed them all! Ack!

My Texas family has come and gone, sadly. Sigh. I miss them. But enough whining about that. We had a fabulous time while they were here! I got to scare Mica while swimming - I was being my evil self and humming the "Jaws" theme as I swam closer...and closer...and closer. Evil me! Mwahahahahaaaaaa!!! We also had a blast at a local yarn shop, which you can read about their steals over and April & Mica's blog.

I broke down and bought size 0 circ needles, and I have part of a cuff of one sock done. I'm not really sure what I'm doing, but at least I'm knitting! =) Size 0 needles really aren't that awkward to work with - surprisingly, considering the looks of astonishment and/or horror I got when I would mention what size I had.

Eventually, I will attempt to post pics from their visit. I know, I know. Try to contain your enthusiasm, as I make no guarantee on when. So, you'll just have to wait, my cheeky little badgers!

Perfectionism has GOT to be genetic.

Okay, so who here is a perfectionist because of their parents? *waves hands wildly* Me! My dad I can understand. He's a graphic artist and wants to do his best because his work reflects on the businesses of others. He does tend to get a bit too picky when it comes to said work, however. A typical conversation goes something like this:

Me: Dad, that looks great!
Dad: You think so?
Me: Absolutely!
Dad: I don't know. I feel like it's missing something.
Me: *tears hair out in frustration* Dad. It. Looks. Awesome.

So, yeah. My mother is a perfectionist in a different sense. Any time she discovers that there will be (gasp) people in our house, it gets cleaned. Doesn't sound so bad, you say? For instance. Tomorrow, we're expecting a house full of company for about three days. Hooray!!!! I'm so excited they're coming, since it's literally been years since I've seen them. What I was NOT excited about was the fact that my mom insisted we clean places that haven't seen daylight in the last century. I no longer need to worry about piddly things like spring cleaning.

In all honesty, it wasn't that bad, but my poor mother worries herself to death so much so that Dad and I tried to get her to relax. But she was having none of it. As far as I know, at around 1:00 am last night, she was still going strong. On the plus side, we won't have to clean our house again for the next two weeks!

You Have a Choleric Temperament

You are a person of great enthusiasm - easily excited by many things.
Unsatisfied by the ordinary, you are reaching for an epic, extraordinary life.
You want the best. The best life. The best love. The best reputation.

You posses a sharp and keen intellect. Your mind is your primary weapon.
Strong willed, nothing can keep you down. Your energy can break down any wall.
You're an instantly passionate person - and this passion gives you an intoxicating power over others.

At your worst, you are a narcissist. Full of yourself and even proud of your faults.
Stubborn and opinionated, you know what you think is right. End of discussion.
A bit of a misanthrope, you often see others as weak, ignorant, and inferior.

WAHOOO!!!

I'm starting an official countdown! There are now three days until I get to see some of my favorite family members! Including Mica and April! Yippee! We're gonna have a family cookout Wednesday, so if it rains, I'm going after our local weatherguy. :) (Don't worry, I'll be mostly nice.) Snerk.

Anyway, I simply cannot wait! They're gonna teach me to knit socks, which I desperately want to learn, but everyone seems to be afraid of them. Moi? Nah. I will admit I'm a bit intimidated, but not afraid. ("Ask me the questions, bridgekeeper, I'm not afraid.")

PARTY!!!
